All Aboard! Next Stop: PARIS!

Last year's Tuscan Picnic benefit for the Lisbon Landmark Foundation was so much fun, we're doing it again... with a new twist. This time, we're heading for France on Saturday, June 26th.

Treat yourself on June 26th to a three-course French luncheon prepared by Chef Treg Steves as the Lisbon Landmark Foundation takes you on A Stroll Through Paris.

Our first course is a cold Cucumber Dill Soup with Goat Cheese and Baguette Croutons.

Our second course is a Jambon Beurre Rosemary-brined ham, Gruyere cheese, roasted tomato, Maille mustard, and baby endive on a freshly baked Batard roll. Gaufrette potatoes are on the side.

Dessert, anyone? Our final course is an enticing Crème Patisserie Crepe with Sauterne Anjou pears, toasted hazelnuts, and caramel sauce. Oh, my!

Sparkling French water will be included as well.

This delightful French-inspired meal comes boxed with service items, and a Vegetarian Sammie is available upon request.

Your cost for the lunch is $25.00 per box, and all proceeds will benefit the non-profit Lisbon Landmark Foundation. Tickets are available from any Landmark Board member, or by calling the Green Marble at (330) 385-8900 or stopping in.

The Lisbon Landmark Foundation is a non-profit group whose goal is to save the village's historic buildings and preserve Lisbon's unique character.

The ticket deadline is Monday, June 21st. Lunches can be picked up at the historic PL&W Train Station on Market Street in Lisbon from 1 to 3 pm on June 26th.

On September 12, 2020 the Lisbon Landmark Foundation had a Tuscan Picnic Takeaway.

The foundation offered a four-course Italian lunch, starting with a rich tomato basil bisque. The next course was a Giardiniera Salad with crunchy pickled vegetables. Followed by an Italiano Club sandwich featuring shavings of prosciutto ham and smoked provolone cheese on Focaccia Bread with romaine, roma tomatoes and pesto mayo. Topping off the lunch was a heavenly tiramisu; all diners will also received a bottle of Italian sparkling water.

Come join the Lisbon Landmark Foundation and the Lisbon Area Chamber of Commerce on February 8th, 2020 from 8:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at the Lisbon Methodist Church for the 13th Annual Founder's Day Pancake Breakfast.  With the Columbiana County Commissioners and the Johnny Appleseed Festival Queens helping cook and serve, the Pancake Breakfast is always a great time and a great breakfast!

Artwork this year will be provided by the students of McKinley Elementary School based on this year's theme, the Columbiana County Fairground Administration Building.  This building was reputed to previously have been a ticket office for one of the local railroads before being relocated to the fairground entrance where it has stood for over 100 years.  If true, this underappreciated historical gem is one of three train stations in Lisbon; the other two being the PL & W Station at the start of the Greenway Bicycle Trail and the train station that currently serves as the home of the Lisbon Historical Society.  Its design was heavily influenced by the works of Henry Hobson Richardson, one of the "Big 3" of American architects.

It is important that we share the history of this building with the next generation as it is an important, yet undervalued, piece of Lisbon's history.  Let's not take this building for granted!

On Saturday, June 18th, 2019, the Lisbon Landmark Foundation presented a gala dinner at Whispering Pines Castle in Rogers, Ohio.  Featuring a beautiful setting and an amazing meal prepared by renowned chef Treg Steves, this event was a rousing success.  Great food, great friends, and for a great cause.  We can't ask for anything more from our supporters.  The success of this event almost guarantees we'll be planning new dinners for the future, so check back often to see what's next.
